I Miss the Past

I miss the past as a child,
Brought up in the 80s—
A time I long for deeply,
A time I miss so badly.

I miss the experience,
When I was young and healthy,
Able to eat what I liked,
And drink what I enjoyed.

I miss being able to go
To the video store and rent
Movies—what a joy it was,
A fun and simple time.

I miss the 80s era—
Its raw originality,
The cult classic films we loved,
Now lost in modern noise.

Now it’s only memory,
A fleeting moment in time,
A place I wish to be again—
If only time could rewind.
